Centering Ritual - Week 2, Day 2 - Movement

Updated: Aug 29, 2020

Opening thought: It is understandable that we grow restless when our daily routines are disrupted. At these times, it is good and well to find ways to let our inner self go a bit and relax.

Centering Meditation – Today our meditations will be on movement. I have to videos, pick the one you like best. One is on movement meditation using yoga and the other is basic Tai Chi movements. If you find them beneficial, I invite you to post your experience. Do these exercises outside in your backyard, or park or deck. I find a morning movement centering ritual deeply rewarding. I will practice this movement meditation on Thursdays at 7:00 pm and think of you.

Fundamental Tai Chi Movements

Centering Ritual: Throughout the week, or at any moment in time, take the opportunity to move your body. Dr. Ortega noted that almost every moment offers a opening to "let the wiggles out." Find a comfortable position, whether sitting, laying down, or however your body lets you know is comfortable. And then, simply wiggle your toes, your fingers, wiggle your body as you are able, and then, just let it go!

Closing: As you know, I love to incorporate music in some of our centering days. Dr. Ortega recommended Crystal Waters "Relax", but But a some one precious to me sent me this video "Worship" with Tikvah as she takes us through learning step by step of the Jewish Circle Dance instruction and into movement. She instructs us the dances in Jerusalem and on the Mount Olives overlooking the Temple Mount. If you discover videos, poems or quotes, you know to send them to me.
