About the Event
Studies have found that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed, and that gratitude unshackles us from toxic emotions and has lasting effects on the medial prefrontal cortex of the brain (Brown & Wong, 2017). In fact, gratitude felt towards others appears to be particularly effective in enhancing emotional well-being when this gratitude is outwardly expressed. “When you feel thankful for someone, actually thank them!” (O’Connell et al., 2017). In this meeting, we will focus on both exploring and expressing our gratitude toward important people in our lives.
